This small-sized drawstring bag is a modernized version of the mail drawstring bags originally produced for US Mail postmen around the 1980s. It can be used as both a tote bag and a drawstring bag. Each bag is individually hand-stamped with an antique letterpress stamp.
The Old Oil series is the brand's signature series, featuring full vegetable-tanned leather from Himeji, dyed using the traditional hand-dyeing method known as "Oka-zome," then treated with burnishing and oil for a vintage look. Oka-zome originated in the Santa Croce region of Italy in the 19th century and remains beloved today for its rich color shading and aging. In recent years, leather artisans skilled in hand-dyeing have become among the world's leading, making this method rare. The hardware is made from traditional cast metal or solid brass with an aging finish, allowing you to enjoy the aging process along with the leather.
